I thought this was one of Grisham's better books. It combined his knack for writing "thrillers" with his sense of life and the law in the south. The humor in the book was great. I read this on vacation one summer or spring and remember chuckling and reading passages out loud to my wife. There's no doubt about Grisham's writing ability (he would laugh to read a comment like this from one of the public) but I do look at style and ability to develop characters and this is pretty much always present in Grisham's works.
